The Civil Engineering Department of University of Aveiro is researching in the areas of sustainable construction and building energy efficiency. The Department has a multidisciplinary research group with different backgrounds in different areas (Thermal comfort, Dynamic Building Simulation, Sustainable Architecture, Materials and Chemical Sciences) to develop innovative sustainable construction solutions. The Civil Engineering Department has lead and integrated national and international research projects in in the mentioned areas and consultancy to construction companies and industry, mainly in the development of new sustainable construction products.

What we offer:
The research group of Civil Engineering Department has a recently infrastructure, localized in University of Aveiro (Aveiro – Portugal). This infrastructure has laboratories prepared to test the developed new construction solutions and materials. This group offers a research expertise in construction materials and technologies, because have knowledge in this areas. We are a work group compound by engineers, professors and researchers in multidisciplinary areas and have knowledge in phase change materials process to building elements incorporation.
Actually, we are developing new products in buildings sustainability field and we do consultancy services for building projects.
What we are looking for:
Research partners who need additionnal partners in R&D projects (such as FP7).The research group looking for new partners interested in collaboration on a potential research projects for the development of a new building solutions with phase change material incorporation , as well as developing low-impact construction materials.
We are available to swap and transfer technological knowledge and information with other national and international researcher groups and companies. We are looking for suppliers of sustainable materials and sustainable solutions to be apply in university campus buildings.
We are also looking for clients (architects, home builders or home owners) with bespoke low carbon building designs who require thermal modelling, overheating and daylighting analysis, particularly Passivhaus and REVIT designs.
